AGNR's Outstanding Faculty Member Award given to ANSC's Dr. Sarah Balcom
The AGNR Dean's Student Advisory Council awarded Dr. Sarah Balcom an Outstanding Faculty Member award on May 7 at the Ag Council-DSAC Spring Banquet on Zoom. Dr. Balcom is a Senior Lecturer and the Director of the Undergraduate program in Animal and Avian Sciences who has been with the department since 2010. She is also a Woodrow Wilson Fellow. With this award, students acknowledged her excellence in teaching and preparing students for careers after UMD. Students have especially appreciated her efforts during the COVID-19 upheaval and the abrupt transition to online learning.
