Dr. Tom Porter was named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), one of the world’s most prominent scientific societies and publisher of the Science family of journals. Dr. Andrew Broadbent was nominated as a research honoree by Dean Beyrouty at the 2024 Maryland Research Excellence Celebration on April 16.
ANSC Staff Member of the year:
The Animal and Avian Sciences Staff Member of the Year for 2024 is Nikki Thompson and she received the award at this year’s Annual Symposium. Read more.
RISE Grant – Rising Star:
Rose Cardinal was selected to receive a Retain - Ignite - Skill building - Exploration (RISE) Grant as a Rising Star. The RISE grant is awarded to eligible Division of Academic Affairs staff to cover costs related to attending various professional development opportunities.
