Dr. Sai Zhang receives the 2020 Midwest Young Scholar Award
Dr. Sai Zhang, postdoctoral associate in Dr. Chad Stahl’s laboratory, received the Midwest Young Scholar Award from the Midwest Section of the American Society of Animal Science (ASAS) on March 2, 2020 at the annual Midwest ASAS-ADSA Meeting held in Omaha, Nebraska in recognition for his research accomplishments in developmental nutrition. Dr. Zhang earned his MS from China Agricultural University in 2015 and Ph.D. in swine nutrition from Michigan State University in 2019. He worked in Dr. Nathalie Trottier's laboratory, and his dissertation research focused on the impact of dietary protein reduction and amino acid balance on the efficiency of nitrogen utilization and heat production in lactating sows exposed to thermal heat stress. Dr. Zhang has more than 10 abstracts as a Ph.D. Student, and accumulatively co-authored 15 peer-reviewed publications.
