Dairy Extension

Dairy Extension

The Maryland Dairy Industry is home to over 450 dairy farms and nearly 50,000 dairy cows. It is a $1.1 billion business with nearly 4300 individuals employed in the dairy section. The Dairy Extension team is available to help the state’s dairy industry through practical research, seminars, resources, and workshops.

Extension is a nationwide educational network that brings the research and knowledge of land-grant institutions to people in their homes, workplaces, and communities. University of Maryland Extension is a statewide, non-formal education system within the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Maryland College Park Campus.

Faculty and staff at the state and county level provide Maryland citizens with non biased, research based information in the form of events, publications, workshops and classes. UME offices are located in every county as well as in Baltimore City. State specialists are located in Regional offices or at one of the university’s campuses.

Please take some time to look at the information and opportunities we have available to help members of our vast dairy community.
