Our department offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. One-third of our animal sciences seniors and several juniors enter veterinary school, while others go on to graduate school. Our graduates also pursue a variety of careers such as research technicians, sales or marketing representatives, or animal producers.

Nine miles from the nation's capital, the University of Maryland at College Park is within easy reach of the country's best research facilities. Undergraduate Program

Graduate Program

The Departments of Animal and Avian Sciences and Veterinary Medicine join together to offer degree programs in Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Animal Science. Students pair with one of our outstanding faculty mentors to specialize in one of several exciting fields including nutrition, genetics, cell biology, reproduction and development, behavior, and virology.
