Positions
Postdoctoral fellows You are encouraged to apply directly for funding for postdoctoral work in my laboratory. Candidates should discuss with me potential projects and the relevant funding agencies before submitting applications. Positions funded by my own laboratory will be available at times and widely advertized.
Graduate students Currently I accept Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Science students in animal breeding, quantitative genetics, population genetics, conservation genetics, and biometrics through the Animal and Avian Sciences (ANSC), the Behavior, Ecology, Evolution, Systematics (BEES), and the Marine Estuarine Environmental Sciences (MEES) graduate programs. General information on the Animal Sciences graduate program may be obtained from Dr. Ian Mather. For the BEES program please contact Dr. Michele Dudash and for the MEES program contact Dr. Kenneth Paynter. The Department of Animal and Avian Sciences provides financial support in the form of graduate assistantships to extraordinary candidates on an availability basis. Candidates with their own fellowships will still need to go through the regular application process and be admitted to the graduate program. Graduate assistantships are usually not offered directly by this laboratory.
