Extension Interests:

Develop educational programs for dairy producers and other users of DHI management records. The DHI data allows educators and researchers to evaluate management, feeding, breeding and reproductive practices.

Serve in an advisory capacity from the Department of Animal and Avian Sciences, UMCP for the five Maryland dairy breed organizations; Sire Power, Inc.; Member, Board of Directors, Maryland Agricultural Foundation.

Provide leadership for many 4-H dairy youth programs and activities, including;
I . Dairy cattle judging program
2. 4-H dairy cattle leasing program
3. Dairy Management Contest
4. Fundraising

Member of a research team at the Association for Entrepreneurial Science, Rockville, Maryland, studying the use of equine choriogonadotropin (ECG) for use in mammalian reproductive programs. Applied research in dairy cattle breeding and management using data generated from the DHI program. Cooperative project with DHI-Provo in the development and impact analysis of BreederNet in the marketing of dairy cattle and other agricultural products.

- Excellence in Extension Award, UMCP College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Alumni Association 1997.
- Maryland 4-H Alumni Award 1996.Coach, National Champion 4-H Dairy Cattle Judging Team, 1995, 1992, 1989, and 1985.
- National DHI Outstanding Service Award 1991.
- Distinguished Service Award, Maryland Holstein Association 1990.
