The Invitational 4-H Dairy Quiz Bowl was again a featured activity at the 35th Annual North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Kentucky, on November 7 and 8. The event features young people who have set their sights on a career in the dairy business or some other aspect of agriculture. This year marks the 29th year for the Dairy Quiz Bowl. Teams of knowledgeable young people vie for top honors by testing their knowledge on many levels of the dairy business. Twenty teams from across the nation participated, with the team from Minnesota placing first and the teams from Iowa and Wisconsin placing second and third, respectively.

The Maryland 4-H Dairy Bowl Team placed 7th overall. Maryland team members included: Chelsea Davis of Cecil County, Brandon Kahler of Carroll County, Kaylene Lyons of Montgomery County, and Kristin Zimmerman of Frederick County. Individually Kristin placed 4th and Chelsea 5th on the written exam. April Hall Barczewski, Extension Educator, 4-H Youth Development from the University of Maryland Cooperative Extension, Cecil County office coached and accompanied the team.
