Goals of the Extension Programs
The mission of the University of Maryland Department of Animal and Avian Sciences' beef cattle extension program is to support the State's agricultural industry; protect and enhance its valuable natural resources; enhance the development and well being of farm families and individuals; and facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technology from the University to the end user. Faculty within the Department of Animal and Avian Sciences accomplish this mission through the discovery, integration, dissemination and application of research-based knowledge in the agricultural, human and life sciences.
