Jennifer Summers returned to the University of Maryland at the age of 30 after deciding to pursue her interest in the health and welfare of animals. Since graduation she has interned at the National Aquarium in the Sea Turtle Department and currently has spent the last four months at The Elephant Sanctuary located on 2,700 acres in Tennessee.

Jennifer Boniface - Pet Food Entrepreneur

Jennifer Bonfiace received both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of Maryland in Animal Science. After her undergraduate education, Jennifer worked at the USDA for a number of years before going back to school to become a CPA. Years later she realized that her true passion was in animals and went back to Graduate School to study Animal Nutrition and studied at the National Zoo, working with Maned Wolves. After graduating, she started her own pet food company, taking a holistic and natural approach to pet nutrition. Her Maryland-based company, Aunt Jeni's Home Made, just recently celebrated their 10th year anniversary.

Matt Snider - Letters From South Africa

Matt Snider is a May 2009 graduate of our ANSC Science/Professional option. He hails from Middlebury, VT. Going into college, Matt's plans were to attend vet school after graduation, but a combination of internships and experiences eventually steered him toward conservation rather than veterinary studies. While an undergrad here, Matt worked as a Zookeeper Aide at the National Zoo's Asia Trail and then also subsequently work as a paid intern in the National Zoo's nutrition lab.
Matt was very active in student organizations during his time here, including; being an AGNR Student Ambassador, a member of the Animal Husbandry Club and a Highriser Council member. Matt is now working as a Research Intern for Global Visions International and is a member of their staff at Karongwe Game Reserve in South Africa.
