Joint NMC Meeting and MAC Conference
The NMC and the Mid-Atlantic Consortium (MAC) will join together to host a milk quality conference, May 27-28, 2009 at the Woodlands Inn & Resort, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The two-day conference is targeted toward producers, veterinarians, extension specialists, field staff, and other dairy professionals interested in quality milk production. The meeting will offer presentations on mastitis control, udder health, and milking management, along with specialized short courses and workshops.
The Mid-Atlantic Consortium (MAC) Dairy Extension In-service Training Program has become the premier educational event for dairy Extension agents and campus dairy Extension specialists in states from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. This three-day training program is specifically designed for dairy Extension field agents and includes cutting edge technical knowledge, case studies, and innovative Extension programs. Participants of this program receive a notebook, power point presentations, and the opportunity to network with peers and national experts.
The NMC (formerly the National Mastitis Council) is a not-for-profit professional organization devoted to reducing mastitis and enhancing milk quality. The NMC promotes research and provides information to the dairy industry on udder health, milking management, milk quality, and milk safety. Founded in 1961, NMC now has close to 2,000 members in more than 40 countries throughout the world. The NMC is headquartered in Verona, Wisconsin, located just outside of Madison, the capital of Wisconsin.
