The Equine Rotational Grazing Demonstration Site is home to four Thoroughbred geldings that were generously donated in March of 2009 to the University of Maryland. Prior to being turned out to graze, all of the horses were dewormed, and a fecal egg count was performed to ensure that they would not shed parasite eggs on the pasture. Routine fecal egg counts are performed to make sure the horses are free of parasites. The horses began grazing the pastures at the rotational grazing system in April of 2009.

The University of Maryland is seeking annual sponsorships for each horse in the amount of $1,000/horse/year to help reduce costs associated with horse care and management. Included in your sponsorship is name recognition on all promotional material and quarterly letters from our students that provide horse updates as well as what’s going on at the farm.
